Program Curriculum:
All recruits will enter as an Explorer Candidate.

1. Explorer Candidate - must successfully pass these initial classes to be recognized as an Explorer and to remain an active member of the Post. After completing these courses you will be eligible to visit selected fire stations and participate in the ride along program.

  • Basic First Aid
  • CPR/AED
  • Blood Born Pathogens
  • Firefighter Orientation and Safety
  • Tools and Equipment
  • Fire Department Rules and Regulation

2. Explorer - must take and successfully pass all classes to remain an active member of the Post. Classes are taken from Fire Essentials I. Classes include but are not limited to:

  • Fire Behavior
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Self Contained Breathing Apparatus
  • Portable Extinguishers
  • Ropes and Knots
  • Water Supply
  • Hose
  • Fire Streams
  • Communications
