As part of our Smart Heart partnership with Boca Raton Community Hospital, Boca Raton Fire-Rescue Services offers CPR. Classes are held at Boca Raton Community Hospital and at Boca Raton Fire Rescue Services. Boca Raton Community Hospital classes are held in the Education Department Building located at 800 Meadows Road. Fire Rescue classes are held at Fire Administration located at 6500 Congress Avenue, Second Floor. For information and enrollment 24-hours a day, call (561) 955-4468. All classes are taught from the American Heart Association curriculum.

- Course Description: The Heartsaver AED Course teaches the basic techniques
of adult and child CPR and use of an AED. Students also learn
about using barrier devices in CPR and giving first
aid for choking. The course teaches how to recognize
the signs of 4 major emergencies: heart attack,
stroke, cardiac arrest, and foreign-body airway
obstruction.
- Course Length: 3 hours
- Intended Audience: All lay responders, such as firefighters, police,
airline personnel, security guards, employees
in the workplace, family members of patients at
high risk for sudden cardiac death, other lay rescuers,
and those who may have a need to respond to a
cardiac emergency.

- Course Description: The BLS Healthcare
Provider Recertification Course is designed to
teach the skills of CPR for victims of all ages
(including ventilation with a barrier device, a
bag-mask device, and oxygen); use of an automated
external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign-body
airway obstruction (FBAO). It is intended for participants
who provide heath care to patients in a wide variety
of settings, including in-hospital and out-of-hospital.
For certified or non-certified, licensed or non-licensed
healthcare professionals.
Pre-requisite: None
- Course Length: 4.5 hours
- Intended Audience: Recommended for licensed or certified healthcare professionals. Healthcare providers,
such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency
medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical
and occupational therapists, physician's assistants,
residents or fellows, or medical or nursing students
in training, aides, medical or nursing assistants,
police officers, and other allied health personnel.

- Course Description: The Heartsaver
First Aid Course teaches rescuers to effectively
recognize and treat adult emergencies in the
critical first minutes until EMS personnel arrive. Participants
will learn to treat medical emergencies such
as breathing problems, allergic reactions, chest
pain, heart attack, bleeding, and environmental
emergencies such as bites, stings, and poisoning.
- Course Length: 3 to 4 hours
- Intended Audience: All lay responders
with a duty to respond to emergencies in the workplace
or community. Rescuers required to take this
course as part of their employer’s efforts
to comply with OSHA regulations.
