Active community citizen and business executive Peter R. Baronoff serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of three national companies headquartered in Boca Raton: Sun Capital HealthCare, Inc., one of the nation’s largest finance organizations for the healthcare industry; Promise Healthcare, Inc. one of the country’s leading and largest long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) organizations that owns 12 facilities in seven states and has strategic expansion plans under development, and Sun Capital Inc., a leading nationwide commercial financial services company.
Baronoff brings more than 25 years of senior-level management and financial business leadership and experience to his city council position, garnered from his tenures as his chairman and chief executive officer of his current companies as well as in the senior executive positions he has held at several private and public companies. Baronoff is a nationally recognized authority on financial services and has been an active lecturer, author, and journalist on commercial and healthcare funding. He currently serves as president of the Acute Long-Term Hospital Association (ALTHA), a membership of more than 270 acute long-term hospitals in more than 29 states.
An active member of the Boca Raton community for a decade and an active neighborhood leader, Peter is serving in his second year as president of Woodfield Country Club. He played an integral part in securing a new fire station to be built in West Boca Raton, and a voting precinct to be established at Woodfield Country Club for more convenient poll accessibility for his and surrounding communities.
He is a trustee of the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Boca Raton Roundtable. Baronoff was also a co-chair of Rising Star 2004 talent competition finale event held to benefit Boca Raton Educational Television (BRET) and is an active supporter of the Tri County Humane Society, Congregation B’nai Israel, LEAH (a board member and co-chair of its recent Pillars of the Community event), American Heart Association, Woodfield Cancer Unit, Stand Among Friends, etc.
His key areas of focus as a member of city council are:
- Protection of quality of life
- Safety and security of residents and businesses
- Effective financial management and fiscal responsibility of city operations, services and programs
- Controlled development growth
- Enhancement and support of the city’s schools
- Improvement of traffic conditions throughout the city
- Enhancement of healthcare services for those that live, work and play in Boca Raton
Baronoff has been married to his wife, Malinda for 22 years. They have two daughters, Shanna, age 17 and Jillian, age 15. Baronoff was born in New York, and graduated from the University of South Florida.
