The Boca Raton Beach Patrol was established in the 1940s. In 1969, it was one of the first East Coast chapters of the United States Lifesaving Association (USLA), then known as the National Surf Life Saving Association.
Today, Boca Raton Ocean Rescue consists of fifty highly-trained personnel, safeguarding two and one half miles of beautiful oceanfront beach.
The beaches in Boca Raton are pristine, with a natural dune lining the beaches.
Rather than allowing vehicles to park along State Road A1A, beautiful parks with winding paths have been created which allow vehicles to be parked in tree-lined splendor.
Spanish River Park, has tunnels under A1A, so that beach-goers do not have to cross traffic to access the beach.
Red Reef Park, on the East side of A1A, contains a
golf course and a coral reef that extends nearly to the shore.
South Beach Park has a pavilion that oversees the beach from high atop the dune. Free parking is available for beach-goers who want to park along Palmetto Park Road or Spanish River Road.
